i am 44 years old and since i was a child i felt a big connection towards the Indian nations especcially the Lakota, i am still feeling a very strong bond towards a ''Great Nation''. Every time I see movies about ''my people''such as ''Dancing with Wolves''or Docu's on Discovery or a read books i feel ashamed to be ''White''and my heart cries and i become very angry and emotional.
In my home I have several Indian sayings and paintings, one of is from Three Eagles,a Nez Perce and also in it the head of a Wolf. Somitimes I feel inside like an Indian and I believe that in a earlier life I was one otherwise it doesn't hurt so bad everytime I read or see things wich contains the destruction of the Indian people wich in my opinion was the first ''Holocaust''ever recorded. My deepest wish is that i can visit the Lakota Nation and just talk and show my feelings and respect and just beiing among my ''people''. With the deepest respect, yours faithfully; Ramon de Bakker

Gracias anticipadas. Desde este corazón...

Who am I? Recently I have been trying to explore my heritage, my father is a 1st generation American his family coming from Hungary, my mother is native American, most people look at me and by my facial features they ask are you part Indian and my answer to them is usually “No I am not Indian I am native American, Indian is a term used by euro settlers who came here uninvited and stole this land from my ancestors”. Then recently on a trip to Maine there was a Passamaquoddy reservation across this bridge, I went to cross the bridge and was stopped and told, “you are not welcome here white man” so I guess I looked a little to white to them. My hart tells me I am of this land, the color of my skin classifies me as white, am I to be judged by my hart or my skin? I am as mixed up as my blood, anyway what brings me to the Lakota site is that a friend noticed my hart was a little broken up by my recent experience and passed me the book Black Elk speaks and reading his words I felt a connection to the ancestors on my mothers side who I never got to meet because she died when I was young and I always got the feeling she was shunned for marrying a white man, also I add that Black Elk at the end of his life might have felt that he failed his vision but he did not because even as I try to walk the good red road with one foot on either side the nations hoop is the ring around my hart that holds the broken piece together, I look to Black Elk as a kindly old grandfather who has taught me why my hart beats the way it does. I pray that one day all nations will find peace and understanding for each other maybe then I will find the place where I belong until then at least I know the place that belongs to me that is the place in my hart where I honor my mother and father and all my ancestors, thank you Black Elk for showing me that place. Peace and love to all

My Name is David Luiz Ramiris, I'm brazilian and I'd like to congratulate you for your web site... I liked very much about the images and the texts and I could feel how much you worry about taking care of the Lakota culture...
How you know, like Lakota people, the verb we must always be worried to have in our mind, bodies and soul is "to feel" the things and not "to have" the things... I know that I don´t need to say it to you... and securely I can say that I'm son of the mother earth in a white body... and you all know that we said to the white people that we would come back in white bodies, to teach them how to love and respect each other like brothers that we all are... understanding the diferences between the cultures and realizing that when the "Major Objective" is THE objective, the way to get there doesn't matter... when the "EGO" is not feed, the light come...
I sincerily believe that your objective, the Lakota objetive, is to show how much love the human being has inside him... and with this love, how wee can make a better world...
I'm writing this because I read the "Boletines Especialez" from your site... I don't know about "Micky Gallardo", so I can't say nothing about him... but I securelly know Gideon... I don't want to make myself boring or something like that, but I've learn that when we want to know someone, just see the "construction work" (the real action) that the person did... by your acts, I´ll know you... in the lakota way... 90% practice, 10% words...
Gideon say everytime that the Lakotas never used ayahuasca... this is his method, and it's working very good with a lot of people... people like me that was a junky and was save with the help of ayahuasca, that shown me my own power... that one I have inside me... it's not a Drug (it's been permited in the law of EUA already by the U.D.V.), it's medicine power... and you know what this mean... Lakoptas know what this mean...
About the informations on his site, we know that is not his sayings... is not his knowledge and he always say that... we know that no one is the owner of a knowledge... is inside everyone... and he is using another kind of knowledge from another people like "Celso Charuri" and it complements each other... and help more and more people... and everybody can have access of it... just by yourself... and we know that we don't need ayahuasca... but I know it now... after passing by the experience...
About the money, this is not the objective... instead, the objective is make the cost get lowest possible, near R$ 1 for the ritual, so a homeless can have access of it, and he can discover that he is "Son of the Wakan Tanka" and he was born to win... so he's not a homeless anymore... he will recognize himself...
We can't put limits in the light... only Wakan Tanka knows how to touch the heart of each son of Him... some people have affinity with one kind of believing others have diferent ones... but there is no right or wrong... remember the "Major Objective"...
I hope I make myself clear... sorry about the english...
To finalize, be by our side that we are already by yours... we are together to make the World Better... help us... please, don't make our hard work to help people even harder... we are all Lakota... in the heart!!! in the soul!!! in white bodies in this life... Your culture, our culture is safe with us, cause the most important that are the values, the love, the respect, the simplicity, the unification are being very well passed...
I love you all...
David Luiz Ramiris... from the Lakotas... with proud...

I came to your site hoping to gain an understanding of his cultural heritage in the hope of being able to express it some way in our wedding through some trinket or traditional words. I came to South Dakota in 1979. My first job here was at Pierre Indian Learning Center. Visiting the reservations was a culture shock. I began researching the Lakota way. What I was taught was wrong. I wish to learn more. I am drawn to the Lakota way. I don't understand this strong pull. I have worked off and on, as a defense investigator for the Lakota people in federal courts for the past 20 years. It is my way of helping. I am opening a full-time investigation business in Pierre. The Lakota people are not treated fair in the courts. I hope to change that with a sliding scale system to give all a chance for equal representation. I still have much to learn about the Lakota way. Direction would be welcomed. Respectfully, Richard White

Such a wonderful web site. Want to see & read more. Will tell stories to my own nieces & nephews and hope that they will pass along to their young. Would like to ask that Native Americans join up in bill to ban horse slaughter in this country. Some are trying to say that Native Americans support this industry but with the reverance for the horse, I find it hard to believe that it would have support from the you all. Please voice your support for the Horse Protection Act to Congress. Thanks!

A really nice place to visit. I am unsure if I have relatives that are native American, although my fathers ancestors come from Mexico, I have long felt a very strange closeness to native Americans. I am one spiritualty, if not physically. I attend the "Gathering of the Nations" each year and have made so many friends and when I am listening, and watching with them I feel a part of it and them. I am especially drawn to Lokota customs and I was very happy to find your site. Keep up the good work and may the creator find favor in you.
