Runic symbols are so ancient that it is next to impossible to establish their exact date of origin. They are believed to have evolved from ancient Greek, Etruscan and Roman forms of writing, with three main runic alphabets recognized: English, Scandinavian and German, the latter also known as Futhark. The Runes emerged at a time when magic was part of everyday life. They were used as amulets, that is to say, as sacred instruments for protection and divination, and had a clear ritualistic function. |
| Because of the richness and benevolence of their symbolism, the Viking Runes are a priceless tool to establish contact with our own Wise Self, and reading them should not be confused with "fortune telling". Working with them gives us the necessary clues to become clear, take decisions and choose the most appropriate action in any situation. The information is received firstly through the reading itself, which in turn allows for the opening of other deeper channels: the physical, mental and emotional centers, in the form of sensations, images, associations or thoughts. | ![]() |

We are currently in a new age of knowledge and personal experiences in which there is a wider space and a larger freedom to act, think and feel in tune with our essence and natural heritage. Part of the magic in the Viking Runes is their great flexibility and ability to adapt to the requirements of any given moment in one's life. Unlike other oracles, there are no strict rules concerning their use and handling, as long as they are treated with respect. This, in turn, makes their practice amazingly easy. There are no rituals to learn or complicated techniques to memorize. It is not necessary to try to "read between lines" or guess their meanings. |

________________________________________________________________ Reading the Runes There are many different ways to read the Runes. The key to a good reading will always be our receptivity to our own intuition. To achieve this, it is suggested that before starting you take a few moments to become calm and centered. Once the relationship between yourself and your intuition has been established, listen to it, trust it, and allow yourself to be guided by it. The rest will come by itself. If you own a set of Runes, we advice you to start experimenting with simple readings, drawing from one to three Runes, in order to start establishing a more direct relationship with them. Once you achieve this, it will be easier to move on to more complicated readings, such as the five-Rune or seven-Rune readings. The online
reading we offer here uses the one-Rune method, the simplest reading,
but by all means not the least important. Often the answer from a single
Rune is more than enough to gives us the clarity we need. |

Dagaz
Dagaz denotes great breakthroughs in relation to whatever concerns you. The moment is right, and therefore success is assured. This is the Rune of radical trust, even if circumstances are requiring you to jump to the void with apparently empty hands. Dagaz often introduces an important time of prosperity and great results. However, you are reminded to pay attention, and not allow yourself to be carried away nor to behave carelessly in your new situation. Humility and generosity are advised. ________________________________________________________________ Origins || Reading the Runes || An example || Your own set || Online reading || Site map || Español |
